The kids in Tippecanoe County Youth Service programs are collecting plastic lids/bottle caps that will be recycled into a park bench for the grounds of Cary Home. They need to collect 450 pounds of plastic to make one bench.
If you would like to help, you can bring your plastic donations to 1530 S. 18th or we can arrange a pick-up. We can use any all-plastic cap or lid that is free of metal such as:
CAPS to medicine bottles, drink bottles, milk jugs, ketchup/mustard flip tops, detergent, hair spray, spray paint, toothpaste, ointment, or deodorant.
LIDS to butter, cottage cheese, whipped topping, mayonnaise, coffee cans, yogurt, cream cheese, peanut butter, ice cream, or 5-gallon buckets.
If you're not sure if something you have that is all-plastic qualifies, we'll take it. If it doesn't work for this project, we'll be sure it's recycled appropriately.
